A 35 year-old man was today, Friday 27th January 2017, jailed for 13 years and 8 months for conspiring to supply heroin and cocaine.
Stephen Bennett was arrested in a TITAN led operation in the Vauxhall area of Liverpool on 2nd January 2017.
Bennett was wanted after failing to appear at court in December 2015 for sentence after being convicted of conspiring to supply heroin and cocaine as part of Operation Kervella. Bennett had a lead role in this conspiracy and was convicted by a jury after trial - he subsequently failed to appear for sentence.Bennett was also wanted for failing to abide by the conditions of his release licence following a previous jail sentence for attempted murder.Bennett appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on 3rd January 2017 and was remanded in custody until 27th January 2017.Bennett was sentenced to 13 years and 8 months imprisonment on 27th January 2017.Detective Chief Superintendent Chris Green - Head of TITAN added, "Stephen Bennett decided to run rather than face up to the consequences of his serious offending.
